17 year old Lucinda "Luce" Price is sent to Sword and Cross Reform School due to an unfortunate incident with a boy named Trevor. She is greeted by psychotic students and tries to fit in. Arianne is her first friend who is a bit of a crazy-head. She soon finds her nemesis, Molly who is horrible for no reason. Luce's next friend is Pennyweather, who is the grounds-keeper's daughter but the groundskeeper died so she was therefore put into the care of the Head teacher of sword and cross.
After a day of being at her new school, Luce soon becomes torn between two luscious guys, Cam Briel and Daniel Grigori. Cam is flirtatious and likes Luce where as Daniel is ignorant and 'flips her off' when she tried to make any form of contact. However, Luce swears she has met Daniel before but she does not know where.
Luce had a past of being 'odd' because she saw shadows from a young age that nobody else could see. She told doctors and psychiatrists that she did not see them anymore to convince them she was sane but that was far from true. Luce could still see the shadows and for the first time, they came into contact with her.
Luce bonds mainly with Cam and talks briefly to Daniel.
She gets extremely baffled when there is a library fire and a boy names Todd dies because it brings back memories of the death of Trevor. She thinks she was whisked away by someone and had the feeling of flying. Any guesses who?
I am going to keep the rest of the story a secret because it would ruin it if I told you the ending as it is unbelievably brilliant and there would not be much point in you reading Fallen.
But I will conclude my article by saying that Fallen is by far one of the best books I have ever read and I would definitely give it 5 stars without any hesitation.
By the end of the book you will be wanting your own Cam or Daniel and you may find it hard to pick which one and pick a side. I am very befuddled about which guy I would pick, so I just want both!
