Facebook Advertising Essentials - 2 Basic Types of Facebook Advertising

The social network Facebook has reached a staggering amount of users which shows it is a very good place to put your ads on. It is super easy to use because you just have to choose your target audience, which is very possible on Facebook's search capabilities, and create an ad that will captivate your target market. To be able to do this better, one has to know the different Facebook advertising programs.

First off, determine your target market and seal that specific group. In Facebook you can set your search parameters through the following search control targets: relationship status and relationship interests, languages, place of work, educational status and school, the use of keywords, age bracket, gender, and location.

There are more detailed search features available on Facebook that allows you to funnel down even more into your desired target and it can be done to "Likes", favorite movies, bars, music genre, and a whole lot more.

Once you have set your eyes on specific demographics, the next thing to do is design your ad to match the needs and interests of your target and you put your creative side at work on this. Just make sure that the ad that you will be submitting (yes, there is a Facebook team that will review the ad you are about to submit) will conform to the standards and guidelines of Facebook, otherwise you will be forced to redesign it and resubmit it.

Now that you have clearly defined your target market and you have made the ad that you think is appropriate to your desired group of people, you may now choose between the two basic online Facebook advertising schemes and these two would be CPC (the click based program) or CPM (the impression based plan).

People who have been accustomed to placing ads in Google AdWords would certainly opt for the pay-per-click scheme because first off, it is more cost effective, and second they have mastered that payment system already.

However, things may be totally different in Facebook because recent increases in competition has blown up the cost of pay per click sky high since 2009 and that led to many of the more experienced advertisers to prefer the Facebook CPM advertising plan which allows low budget clicks.

And these options and the prices corresponding to each plan are always available and open to all online advertisers everywhere.

Facebook's advertising platform is designed to be remarkably easy to understand and work on and it's just like submitting any other ordinary type of content such as images, status updates, wall posts, and other links.
You can also add a link that redirects readers to an external website or an online page attached to or an actual part of Facebook.
