The cold waters of Alaska has been known to have the best salmon fishes and in huge numbers for that matter. More so, salmon fishing in Alaska offers one with breathtaking sceneries. Although most of the locations require fly to get to lodges, you will definitely not regret since many exciting fishing opportunities are in store for you.

The Yetna River is one of the most popular fishing systems in Alaska. It has been called a fishing system because it has different varieties of rivers, tributaries, and creeks, which are all fit for salmon fishing. The varieties of salmon found in Yetna River include Sockeye, Chum, Pink, Silver, and King salmon. When fishing, you can use a boat, fish using nets with appropriate licensing, or even off the shore. The manner of fishing in this river depends upon the time of the year.

Golsovia River is another fishing spot in Alaska, which is very productive for fishing. The salmon varieties found here include King, Chum, Pink, and Silver salmon. Apart from salmon, this river has also been known for fishing opportunities of Arctic Char fishes. The best time to fish in Golsovia is in the months of June through August. Most guests who fish in the area easily reach the fishing limit; however, they use a program referred to as catch and release so that they can continue fishing throughout the year.

Some other great places for Alaska salmon fishing include Sitka and the Kenai Peninsula and River, which both have huge numbers of salmon fishes in different varieties.
