With almost sixty Golf courses, North Wales is fast becoming one of the best locations in the United Kingdom for people wishing to indulge themselves in the wonderful sport of golf. The area hosts many world class championship courses such as Conwy, Royal St David's and Llangollen to name but a few.
Many of the courses and links are seeped in history and are complete with fabulous views of Snowdonia and its surrounding areas. You can just as easily be teeing off in the shadow of an ancient castle or monument then a custom built golfing complex in this wonderful part of the Welsh countryside.
The Conwy championship course is a fine example of the standard of golfing facilities that North Wales has to offer. Located between two mountains the course has breathtaking views and outstanding amenities available to golfers of any playing standard. Many of the regions courses and links have been voted by worldwide golfing publications to be amongst the top venues in the world both for playability and quality.
All of the regions courses have their own appeals and charms, none as much as the Llanymynech Golf club. Golfers can play their game over two countries in one round; on its green you can play three holes across the English border then back into Wales for the rest of the game. The course itself is one of the most challenging in the region due its hilly position and surrounding sheer cliff faces.
For the first time ever Wales is lucky enough and very fortunate to be hosting the Ryder cup this year which will without fail catapult its reputation within golfing to an even higher level. North Wales has plenty to offer the visiting golfer and much much more.
