Enhance Website Traffic With The Power Of Auto-Responders

Expert Author Tim Buchalka

Target web site traffic using the power of Auto-Responders. Establishing a mailing list (where you send out regular correspondence i.e. newsletters, promotions, etc, is a great idea, but it can be a little hard to manage if you have to do it manually. Have to manually send out an email, particularly if you have a lot of people to send it to can be time consuming, not to mention the fact that it cannot easily be personalized for each recipient.

Why not harness the power of Auto-Responders to do the hard work for you. An Auto-Responder automates the sending of emails to your customers or prospects twenty-four hours a day. What's more, the emails you send out can be personalized for each person, so that it looks like you have taken the time to email them each individually in person. This works in a similar way to mail merge in Microsoft Word, but is fully automatic without any need for you to do anything (after you have set it up).

You can quite literally have a customer subscribe to your mailing list (by leaving their name and email address on your web site) and then automatically receive emails you have predefined one over a period of time while you sleep!

You can then schedule additional emails over a period of time. For example, you could send an initial email to welcome them to your mailing list, then an interesting fact about your products 3 days after they joined, perhaps an extract from a book you have written on day 5, and a promotion on day 7, and so on. The only thing you need to do is set-up the series of emails once, then you just set it and forget it, and each person who signs up for your mailing list will get their individual, personalized emails one by one in whatever time range you have set-up.

The good things to know is you only need to set-up a campaign (the series of email you wish the prospect of customer to receive) once, and then save it. The auto-responder will then automatically know when to send out the next message and will merge in the recipient's personal information when sending the email. It will also send an immediate response, the first time the person joins the mailing list (typically by leaving their details on your web site).

One thing you want to do is ensure you have separate mailing list for each type of contact e.g. At minimum one for your prospects, and another for your customers.

Let's assume, for the sake of argument that you wanted to offer your existing customers a discount on another product you sell on your website (but that you do not want to offer this to the prospects). You could not easily do this if you had one mailing list for all your contacts because there would be no simple way to know which contact was a prospect, and which was a customer.

Decent auto-responder software can do some smart things like automatically moving a prospect from one list to another after a specific event occurs.

In the example above, you could get a prospect moved from the "prospects" list t the "customers" list automatically when the prospect purchased your e-Book. Nice huh?

Remember also that while auto-responders are automatically sending out these emails to your various contacts, you can still send out a "once-off" email to each group. For example you could manually send through a special report to all customers, or an invitation to attend an event, etc.

By promoting your websites URL to your mailing list, you will find Internet web site traffic increases because more of your list subscribers are coming to your website.

This can be a great way to get more traffic, particularly for prospects (people interested in your products and services) because if you can get them signed up on a mailing list, they will be reading more about your product and services, and coming back to your website more often.

Make sure you use Auto-Responders, as they are another of the great Web site marketing strategies to get massive web traffic to your web-site.
