We hear about angel moment stories of kind deeds done by angels in disguise. They are mysterious and heart warming. God also uses people known to us to send encouragement even when they didn't know we needed it. He has a way of matching people up at just the right time.
I've had two of these moments given to me so far in my forty-five years of life. The first was after the birth of my daughter. I made minimum wage working on a temporary service job. Payday was two days away and I had run out of diapers and formula. My take home pay was one hundred dollars a week, of which fifty went to a babysitter.
I had just pulled into the parking lot at work and had decided to turn around and go home. I lowered my head onto the steering wheel and began sobbing. I was discouraged because I didn't know what to do. I felt I had no support network.
Just then, a coworker knocked on the window and motioned for me to roll it down. She asked why I was crying. I composed myself and explained. She told me to open up my trunk. She said she had been thinking of me the previous evening and had gone to the store and purchased approximately two hundred dollars worth of diapers and formula. I began crying again. She said, "Now why are you crying?" I said it was because I was happy. She also handed me a pamphlet about WIC and food stamps and said I would qualify. I didn't know about public assistance.
The ladies in the office later held a baby shower for me. I'm sure they saw me struggling and knew I could use a little support.
The second moment was earlier this year. I was feeling discouraged at work one day, when I received an email from a former client. I had given him a copy of a short story book I had written. What he wrote in that email blew me away. It was confirmation that I was making a difference and that I just needed to keep doing what I was doing. He didn't know about what was happening at that moment.
I've had some extraordinary moments in which I was the one responding to others in need. I never saw those individuals again. I wish I knew how their lives turned out, but it is not for me to know.
Whether we are on the giving or receiving end of these moments, they were definitely under the watchful eye from heaven. Whether they were from friends or angels, we were touched. These are the memories to last a lifetime. When we get to heaven, we will see that we were brought together for a purpose.
