Email marketing can help you in increasing your business, whether it's an online firm or a local store; you just need to do it right.
Don't be a Spammer
We've all gotten junk email, and we usually delete it without reading it. With your email marketing, you don't want that to happen to your messages. So, don't send out blanket emails to just any one. Not only will they be deleted, but the recipients may block you from sending future emails to them.
Build a List
On your website, have a section where people can input their name and email address, and put in some verbiage where they agree to let you send them emails, and have them check a box to approve that feature. That way you will only write to people who want to hear from you.
Sending the Right Email
Depending on the business you're in, you can send out different types of emails. You can do weekly updates on your products and/or services to let people know about new items available and any sales you're running. Next, when you run specials - discounts, seasonal events - you can send out emails to everyone on your list.
Tailoring Your Email
Another feature you can add to your website is a questionnaire. By asking people about their interests, their needs etc, you can tailor your emails to certain people. If you're a writer, and some visitors to your website mention wanting treatments for TV shows, you can write an email that specifically mentions your expertise in that area.
