If you're in the situation that I was in just a few years ago, then you'd do just about anything possible to get rid of your Gynecomastia. Maybe you've tried various diets and exercise routines with no success, there's a reason for that. Gynecomastia is rarely caused by one factor alone. Generally it's the result of excess body fat which is caused by bad diet and lack of exercise. But this alone doesn't cause it; otherwise all men with a few extra pounds of chub would be sporting man-boobs. No, what causes it is really a combination of too much fat, hormones and genetics.
When dealing with all fat deposits, the first thing we have to remember is that you can't spot reduce fat! So those infomercials you see, where guys do a bunch of crunches and turn a big gut into a six pack are just fantasy. The best way to think about fat is like accumulated snow. Those of us who have ever had to shovel snow know that when snow melts, it will always be gone first in the places where there was less of it. And that big pile on the side where we accumulated all that extra snow we shoveled is always the last to melt away. Well body fat, and Gynecomastia in particular is the exact same way. You're probably going to start to trim fat off of your arms, legs, neck and face (the areas where fat is least settled and thinnest) long before you make a dent in those moobs. Because body fat disappears generally evenly throughout your body at once, so the best way to eliminate body fat is to build some muscle and create a calorie deficit. Otherwise all you're going to be doing is making the appearance of your chest worse.
And once you do make some headway into lowering your body fat, there's still the issue of balancing out your hormone levels to contend with. As mentioned earlier, Gynecomastia is so much more difficult to deal with than generalized fat loss because it has to be tackled from various directions at once. Remember, once your body fat percentage goes above 15-20% or so, where it settles is largely dependent on your genetics and your hormones. Too much estrogen and cortisol and too little testosterone can lead to fat being deposited and stored in places we don't want it.
But don't lose hope just yet, getting rid of man boobs is still very possible. But it has to be treated by naturally regulating your hormones, fixing your diet and a combination of cardio and resistance training. The beautiful thing about getting rid of man boobs is that, in order to do so, you have to drastically improve your lifestyle for the better. Unlike some other forms of physical improvement that may require less effort and only short term commitment. Guys who have overcome man boobs know that it takes a complete lifestyle change. But it's one that will leave you feeling a million times better and looking the way that most guys can only dream of.
I've written more extensively on this topic and have a specific program designed for guys who are 100% serious about taking this issue head on. If you would like to know more, then just check out my site at the link below.
