Elementary School Fundraiser: To Plan On Developing People

Expert Author Dan I Barnett

An elementary school fundraiser should not only be task-oriented but should also be people-oriented. Yes tasks should be carried out carefully and should be very well executed but with this preoccupation, we sometimes already have neglected the people behind these tasks.

An elementary school fundraiser is also a person, so before anyone else, as the leader, he should first be the one to know what his people needs. As the ideal leader, he should also see his members as important as he sees his tasks; if tasks need to be achieved then the people also need the attention. The leader should create a relationship between his employees far greater than a boss-subordinate relationship. In developing people, you should know your people more than just their name badges attached to their clothes having their names and positions in the company; that is why get-together parties are good starts to know your people better, events that are free from stress and the pressures of work.

A relationship between the organization and the people or the leader and its members should be free from strands of intrigues or incorrect understanding of one's personality due to the clashes in work related situations. The leader should always have a plan on how to deal with his people such as development strategies on how to create a balanced relationship in the organization. A leader should know that his manpower is its valuable possession as you cannot achieve anything without your people.

It is of great importance that your organization and your people are linked. Imagine a company with people working but against their will and against their beliefs; that they do not adhere to the plans of the organization, they just work there, do their expected obligations for money. It sounds so pathetic for the organization to have such people. Was it the fault of the people? Well, not entirely. It was because the organization is lax and that the organization really did not care about this issue that they left it hanging and actually did nothing about it. If the employees are not coherent to the organization then this would boomerang to the organization's dignity and ego in the business world. They might be questioned as to their capability to handle people. One organization cannot really find people that are all exactly of the same character as to each other meaning having the same visions with the organization. It is on the organization's ability to handle people and influencing them to abide by their own rules and to eventually have the same visions as theirs.

The organization should really invest on these as it would really reflect what the organization is all about. The people in the organization tell a lot about how the organization takes care of its people and how they develop their people. Sometimes, customers come back not because of the product because others can have the same product as yours, but it is because of the people and how they take care of the customers. Therefore, it really pays off to invest and develop on people.
