With increasing awareness on the health hazards brought about by too much fat, comes the quest for an effective and safe weight loss method. There are many ways to loose that unwanted fat but none of these methods have been in use for a long time as herbal teas.

The use of herbal teas began in China thousands of years ago. In today's times drinking tea is synonymous to China. In fact taking tea is a tradition that is still performed at many events. However, in the old times drinking tea is a status symbol for the nobility, the ordinary citizens loved chewing tea leaves for its juicy taste while the practitioners of traditional medicine hailed it as a remedy for many ailments.

Traditional Chinese medicine is a holistic process where a person's health, and bodily needs are assessed visually or by taking the person's pulse. What is great about this Chinese method for effective weight loss is the benefit of losing the excess fat with minimal side effects that is if they occur at all. If they do occur, notable side effects are perspiration and insomnia which can easily be cured by lowering the dosage to half.
