Eczema is a, chronic skin condition, that plague thousands every day. Because the condition is not fully understood there is many that surfaces. Among these theories many are true, such as the one suggesting the relation between Eczema and dietary habits. Coupled with research, and the experiences of those suffering with Eczema it has been found that certain foods can in fact cause the skin condition to worsen as well as become more frequent. Armed with knowledge those that suffer with the red, dry and itchy skin of Eczema can reduce the severity, therefore improving their condition as well as health.
Foods To Avoid
Certain foods have been said to trigger Eczema and all the negative side effects that are commonly associated. Of the many foods, the most common are chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, shellfish, eggs, milk and citrus fruits. Of course there are a few more on the list, however those are the most common. It is not an exact or understood science that delivers that information, but it should be taken into consideration by those suffering with Eczema. What is understood is that the body needs a balanced diet to allow for hydration, skin health as well as the healing process. When foods are consumed that lack in these nutritional benefits, they deprive the body of those nutrients and can lead to a host of problems.
Eczema Fighting Foods
Foods containing a high content of water are good combatants against those itchy patches associated with chronic Eczema. Also increasing the dietary amount of Vitamin A, beta carotene and potassium can greatly reduce symptoms, itching and overall break outs. Leafy green vegetables, carrots and bananas are also good in the diet and by increasing one's intake it can improve their condition. Introducing nutritional supplements can also help the skin rehydrate, heal and reduce the chances of infection.
