Dude, Why Are You Emailing Me?

Expert Author Scott Murdaugh

I had an interesting question over the weekend...

"Hey, I signed up for your email list last week. You're emailing me every day. But you aren't selling anything? Why are you emailing me?"

Good question.

I switched to daily emails/blog posts a couple of weeks ago, and I don't plan on looking back. Here's a few reasons why I'm emailing daily, and why you may want to think about it too...

1. Every new blog post is potential traffic/more subscribers. Articles are syndicated around the 'net and they build nice links and traffic streams back to my blog.

2. Even though I'm not selling a product right now, this helps keep me in the front of my clients/potential clients minds.

3. It lets both potential clients and regular people get to know me. And even though I'm not actively selling anything beyond services at the moment, when I do decide to say "by the way, check out my product" in an email, it has a much better chance of being read because...

4.  It trains people to read. If I email on a subject that someone isn't interested in, they can skip it or unsubscribe. For those people who are interested, they can read daily.

5. I get a better idea of the numbers. Guessing how many opens an email will get is a lot easier when you have daily stats as opposed to emailing once or twice a week.

6. It keeps me motivated. If I start the day writing, I'll generally feel like writing all day. And a daily email in the morning forces me to do that.

Those are just 6 quick reasons off the top of my head.

This much I do know...

Every time I send an email, I can expect a few inquiries from potential clients...

If I'm recommending a product, people who read my stuff daily are more likely to trust me than the guru who just mailed out with a "You GOTTA Have This, Click HERE" type of email.

And honestly, it's a lot of fun.

I'd recommend it to any business with a decent list of email subscribers.

If you're delivering value, people will read (and even appreciate) your emails. And the fact that you're delivering daily just cements you as an expert in whatever niche you're in.

It's "attraction marketing" (which I'll write about soon), I don't have to "sell" anything, because the people I want to work with either already work with me or contact me after something I say resonates with them...

And beyond people unsubscribing because they're sick of hearing from you, which isn't a problem if you're not constantly just pitching them on something, I can't think of a single good reason not to send out daily emails... In any niche...

Can you?
