The drug addiction epidemic is far different today than it was twenty years ago. There are many reasons for this. Children are abusing drugs at an earlier age than in the past. Prescription drugs are more popular, more commercialized and pushed hard than ever before, and the drugs are stronger than they ever have been.
More and more children are coming up with a drug and/or alcohol addiction. Drugs are more present at parties, at homes and at schools, giving children more access to experimenting with these poisons. The real problem comes in when parents attempt to get their child help and there is no reliable resource for children under the age of 18.
We are inundated with drugs and substance abuse from every media outlet available. We see characters on movies using drugs, we read about celebrities struggling with drug and alcohol addictions and we are constantly being told that in order to handle our problems we need to be on drugs. This takes a toll on society after awhile. The more you push drugs on people the more the drugs are going to become the obvious solutions to life's trials and tribulations.
Over the last few decades drug makers and traffickers have gotten more savvy with the creation of narcotics. Marijuana that was considered strong in the seventies is nothing compared to the marijuana that is on the market today. This means that casual users are ingesting these poisons that no one would have even touched several years ago.
What does all this mean? Well, it means that in addition to the drug and alcohol problem that is going on in society, we have to realize that the problem is just getting worse and worse. The only real way to handle a drug addiction problem is to enroll in drug rehab.
