Drop Shipping on eBay - It Won't Help You to Earn a Profit!

If you are thinking to use drop shipping to supply your eBay sales with goods then this piece of writing might change your mind and will guide you in the right path.

Drop shipping is awful for eBay industries!

In theory, drop shipping is a system of buying and selling that requires very small money upfront and diminutive effort. But this is how this method works on eBay: You look through a wholesaler's catalog to find goods you wish to sell on eBay. Then you place the goods as sales or buy it now listings. If the item sells, you collect the payment from the purchaser and send the order on to the drop shipping wholesaler through your eBay client's payment to fund the deal. The wholesaler then delivers the item directly to your eBay client.

The cash you have left is your income.

The income is the difference in cost between what you pay the wholesaler and what you market the item for on eBay. So if your provider sells the Nintendo Wii for two hundred thirty dollars and you sell it on eBay for two hundred fifty dollars, then you have twenty dollars income. But, to determine your real income you have to include and subtract your eBay charges, Pay pal charges, and so on. So your final income is under twenty dollars using the instance given.

Why is this system bad for your eBay business? Well, drop shipping is not awful, it is fatal. This makes no sense in the eBay market. It is based on the notion that you can obtain just one of a product and pay near wholesale cost. But if you would just think about it, that does make no sense at all. If you look at how the wholesale business works, it will be observable.

The wholesale business works on quantity. It is all about size. When a vast company, puts an order it is in vast quantity. For instance, a big company wants to order 5000 ZIP-ZAM DVD players which retail for one hundred five dollars each. It plans to sell the items for a bit under retail at ninety eight dollars each. So they contact their wholesale dispenser who proffers them a rate of eighty six dollars each.

The company puts the order and everybody is happy. But, in drop shipping you can never expect to get that DVD player for anyplace near eighty six dollars. The dispenser offered that company the $86 rate because of the amount they were agreeing to purchase. At the $86 rate the dispenser is only profiting five dollars per DVD player. But that's fine. One sale of five thousand units to that company is twenty five thousand dollars in profit. But ordering just one item and a five dollar profit sale is not going to make.

You need to look at it from the drop shipping wholesaler's standpoint. If a wholesaler really had a hot item, why would they market it to some small industries for very little income? Any person using drop shipping is not going to sell vast quantities. So what is in it for a drop shipping company? The drop shipper could even market direct to the people and do much better. They could offer a higher rate and perhaps sell more units. Wholesalers can do this as well, but keep in mind, they do not market single item at a time. They completely have different business model.

In order to make money in business online, one of the core factors determining this would be the strength of your supply chain.
