Drop shipping as form of marketing, has lived for a long time. This system is successfully implemented in the U.S but is comparatively new to Europe and UK and other parts of the earth.

The major difference between the traditional means of marketing and drop shipping is that with this method you do not have to purchase in bulk and stock your products in the hope of selling. As an alternative, the goods remain with the wholesalers or manufacturer, you don't actually purchase until you have sold, so, you know that you already have made a sale.

This system of marketing works both offline and on, and this is a good news for the entrepreneur. You can factually start your business with very small capital. In addition, for those who have computers at home, you can start your business right from the comfort of your house without hassles.

Drop shipping is quite simple. When you find your source, you just promote the products under your own trade name. If you are online, you can do this through your own website or in the popular sale sites such as eBay, Yahoo and Amazon. And if you want to transact business offline, you can do this through the usual mail order route.

The majority of the manufacturers have a suggested retail price but you are free to advertise the item at a rate that suits you. With a low cost rate any income you make belongs to you. The client usually pays for the insurance and postal costs.

For those marketing online, most wholesale providers provide you with descriptions and pictures of the product. Some even give websites. When you have made a sale, you then buy the product from your source and they directly transmit it to your clients once you have provided them with the important details.

Most drop shipping businesses will not include some of their business information in the packing. Rather, the majority of them offer to include your information on the invoice and depending on the excellence of the packaging may charge a little fee, that is if you want to include.

General advice: Choose items that are likely to sell and with a good income margin. You will need to make your own research into the market. The provider may have impressive goods but do they really sell? Some items sell in high quantities but with small margins and vice versa.
