Dramatic Wedding Details

It is often the little things that can set a wedding apart from the crowd. A few well-chosen elements can be all that it takes to elevate your wedding from nice to incredible. Take these ideas for dramatic wedding details as your inspiration to plan a truly spectacular wedding.

Of course at a wedding, all eyes will be on the bride. When the bride walks down the aisle at the ceremony, everyone stands. Do you really think it is merely to show honor to her, or perhaps are all of the ladies in attendance craning their necks to get a better look at the bridal gown? Maybe a little of both, don't you agree? At any rate, your wedding dress is your first opportunity to add a touch of drama and excitement to your event, so don't let this chance go unused.

Any stand-out detail on your bridal ensemble can work to add flair to your look. It can be a custom bridal jewelry set that features a necklace with a long drop into the open back of a bridal gown with a low-cut back. This is actually a great example, because it shows to how to use striking custom bridal jewelry to play up a dramatic aspect of your wedding gown. Other details to look for include a long train, a colorful sash, oversized organza flower appliques, or one of the one-shoulder styles that are so in vogue right now. Seek out a gown that has one defining and eye-catching detail to really wow your guests.

Multiples are always more impressive than just a few of something when it comes to decorating for your wedding reception. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense that masses of flowers will be more dramatic than just a few blooms in a modest vase. Obviously this can get costly if you have selected expensive flowers like roses, but it can also be done on a budget by using massive amounts of inexpensive flowers like carnations or baby's breath. The key to making this work with affordable flowers is to use only one type of flower, and to arrange large numbers of them in very full and tight displays.

Another thing that can really add drama and ambiance to a wedding is masses of candles. This is perfect for evening receptions, whether they are indoors or outdoors. It is the quantity of candles that makes this into something spectacular, so plan on using hundreds of candles to set the night ablaze. The candles themselves can be very simple; go with either plain white votives, ivory pillars, or chunky white candles. Position tons of candles everywhere in the reception site, from the dinner tables to the bar to the powder room. You can also display your candles in some unique ways for even greater "oomph". A clear piece of plexiglass can be suspended over the tables with masses of candles on them in lieu of a standard chandelier. Another fabulous effect is to mount the candles to the wall, if your venue will allow it.

Guests love to feel as they are being pampered, and you can take advantage of this when you are making your wedding plans. Sweet indulgences like chocolate fountains are a favorite for this reason. You might also want to consider bringing out bottles of a really fabulous high-end Champagne for the first Champagne toast to the bride and groom. If you are on a budget, as the evening progresses, waiters can pass flutes of a less expensive bubbly to anyone who is in the mood for more Champagne. Just have it poured in the kitchen with the label out of sight. After a few drinks, no one will notice the substitution, but they will remember the Dom Perignon that was flowing during the initial toast.

These are just a few of the many ideas that you can use to add drama and excitement to your wedding. Remember that they key to drama is to choose details that really pop and have that wow factor. It only takes a few stand-out elements to make your entire wedding feel very special and memorable.
