You know if you are taken for granted by your spouse then this article is for you. I can't count the number of couples over the years my wife and I have met that have that problem. One of them will just presume the other one is going to do this or that for them no matter what.

For example, my wife and I were at a dinner party recently and my buddy whom we will call Bill was suppose to be helping his wife serve people, refill drinks, be a host, etc. But instead he stayed outside most of the evening talking to his friends and not participating at all.

He left everything for his wife whom we will call Joyce. Poor Joyce had to do most everything herself. My wife and I helped her with some things to lessen the burden but she wanted her husband Bill to help her.

If you are going through this I suggest you sit down with your loved one and tell them what they are doing by taking you for granted. You need to tell them you can't do everything yourself. Sadly, most men presume that the women will cook, clean and take care of the kids. Well, that is fine if this was 1952 but it is not so wake up and help out your spouse.

Your spouse is not your servant or your assistant. They are your life partner, your soul-mate, your other half to your heart. So, treat them that way or you are going to end up losing them. They did not marry you to carry the ball themselves. So, help them out and do your share and stop taking these wonderful people for granted.
