Does WordPress Work As a Real Estate Website?

Expert Author Ryan T Malone

When any business jumps online, one of the best things about the software that they ultimately choose for their website is that it needs to be user friendly, and it absolutely must have the support of an active community. This is why I choose WordPress for everything that I use, and why one of the most in demands pieces of functionality for WordPress at the moment is some simple real estate functionality.

Now, there are already some great plugins available within the WordPress community that will allow you to create a very basic Real Estate website for your business, and some of these plugins have been widely used for the purpose of converting WordPress into a real estate platform. But the question here is a bit more deep than anything that I have mentioned already, and it is this simple and blunt. Does WordPress actually work as a Real Estate website?

When you look at any real estate website, keeping SEO in mind, what is the first thing that comes to mind. Location. From a search engine perspective, people must be able to find your pages based on locations. For example, if I am searching for a house to inspect in the township of Bulla in Melbourne Australia, then by rights, I should be able to create a website that covers all bases.

In WordPress, with some creative use of the permalink structure, it would be all too easy to simply create a structure that contains the URL, the city, the suburb, then the title. From a search engine perspective. there is simply nothing more relevant. Simply drive a few links here and there, and so long as your website has been regularly updated, then you should see some great rankings out of your listings.

All of this would not be possible however without a few plugins such as the famous All In One SEO Pack, and of course a few more for social media sharing, and for contact pages, the opportunities are truly endless.

At the end of the day, I have to answer a question though. The answer to that question is quite simple. Yes, WordPress is a great platform for a real estate website, and that is due to the themes that are available, the level of customization available, and the massive plugin support. Lets not also forget that posting a new listing would be a quick 5 minute job, which is always great for time value.

So, you own a real estate business, and want to make the move online. This is great, as this is where the market is moving. There is truly not that much out there that people do not search for online these days, so it would only be a logical idea to set up shop online with your real estate business.
