2 weeks ago I had 1 account with about 200 followers since using the Tweet Attacks software I have as you can see developed quite a lot of followers, now based on what "the gurus" would have you believe I should be making quite a lot of money marketing to all my new followers but the truth of it is this: I haven not made stacks of money but I have made a little, Twitter marketing IS NOT WHAT THEY (GURUS) WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE!
Does sending a link at all my followers produce loads of traffic? The short answer is YES but it is not the kind of traffic you can really make use of as it is 98% BOTS, you can not sell products to bots but you may get more traffic from them (eventually). Only about 2% of followers actually click on a tweeted link which means that of the 13889 followers that I currently have 277 might actually click on the link I have posted!
Since Twitter opened the API for developers there has been a massive increase of spam posts and automated or bot posting and the likes. The quality of followers has decreased from what it was a only 1-2 years ago and as a result any real marketing on Twitter has to be done differently then simply posting links in your posts!
Is it even worth using Twitter for marketing purposes? I believe that there is still value in Twitter marketing just not the thousands of dollars others are trying to tell us they are making. Instead use Twitter as a part of a well rounded social marketing plan and always, always post value to your followers/friends!
