Firstly what defines marketing? What would you say marketing is. If we go for the technical definition it basically means creating awareness regarding a product or service. I have mentioned in numerous articles that learning how to market is imperative. Now I have to admit the term "learning how to market" is not mine, I did not originally come up with it. However I want to go into it so you will have a better understanding of what it means.

A market can be explained as follows. It basically is a community of people that have needs and wants. Many products and services are invented to address these needs. As an affiliate when we talk about learning how to market we are referring to how we are going to present products and services to these consumers who have needs.

So learning to market is basically learning what these consumers really need and how you are going to get it to them. The job at hand then is not just to know the needs, but you need to know the specific needs and how desperate these folks are? How hungry are they? Can you as an affiliate address this and provide quality research that will enable these consumers to get what they need and make decisions based on the information you have provided.

I for example am an affiliate marketer. I am pretty passionate about it in that I have been doing it since 2004 and have had more failures than successes. Because I have been in this industry for a few years now I am able to understand what information will be of benefit to those who truly want to work for themselves?

There is nothing worse than seeing a passionate individual give up their inspiration because they got fed information that was far from the truth. My role when it comes to affiliate marketing and the affiliate business is to only provide information on what has worked for me, not what has worked for somebody else.
