When I say the words, "working out", what do you think of? Going to a gym and spending two hours doing cardio and weight training? Do you see yourself taking aerobics or jazzercise classes while trying to follow along with some perky, skinny, blonde haired beauty? I don't know about the average woman but I can tell you that even I am intimidated by these gorgeous committed creatures. I don't think I would be as eager to join a class if it were being taught by a middle-aged overweight housewife who has trouble keeping up with her own routine. I also have issues with the weight machines they provide you with no direction what-so-ever. Oh there are "instructions" with pictures on them but how obvious do you look trying to read the writing on the machine while trying place your feet, hands, butt, legs, and anything else to actually work the apparatus and exercise a muscle while you're on it. It's downright scary.
The good news is that you do not need nor is it required to lose weight, become healthier, and stay in shape by having to go to the gym.
Exercising is extremely necessary for getting fit and staying fit. Building muscle increases your fat burning furnace and gets your metabolism to work faster and more efficiently. Did you know that just by walking 30 minutes a day at a moderate pace can increase your metabolism by 30 percent? Walking is also fabulous for your cardio heart health and for increasing circulation in your muscles and joints. Walking builds muscle in your legs and buttocks and if you swing your arms in a controlled motion, you will also build upper body muscle as well. You won't look like a body builder however but you will increase the muscle which will decrease the fat giving you a more defined and sleek look to your physique.
Do you like to play tennis or racket ball? Do you enjoy jogging or bicycling? Any normal activity that you enjoy doing is always going to sustain you in the long run for incorporating daily exercise into your weight loss fitness goals.
Set your goals small at first and build up to a daily routine that you can do manage so that your workouts will become a part of your lifestyle without having to go to a gym.
