This question is one that many acne sufferers ask themselves on a regular basis. How much does the diet that I live by affect the condition of my skin? The type of diet that we maintain can be the difference between acne free skin and acne prone skin believe it or not. But what about greasy foods, how does the intake of fatty and greasy foods effect our skin, and will it cause acne? The author takes a closer look at the situation, and breaks down the dos and don'ts of food consumption if you are a sufferer from acne breakouts.
The question that so many people ask is how does the intake of fatty and greasy foods affect acne breakouts? The answer is it makes them more likely to occur and more difficult to remove. But it is not just the grease that does this, it is also the toxins and impurities from these types of foods. Fried and greasy foods are among the highest in acne causing toxins and the more of them that you consume the harder it is for your skin to treat and heal itself from the acne breakouts. Instead, your skin must focus on the removal of these toxins and impurities, it is making life difficult for your skin.
But just like unhealthy or toxin rich foods can cause problems for your acne, there are other foods that work well to improve the health of your skin including acne. Foods such as raw fish are fantastic for your skin and cucumber salads are another fantastic way to help your skin heal itself more effectively. Egg yolks and the use of olive oil as dressing on your salads can also improve skin health and reduce the effects of acne.
For most of us our diet lies somewhere in between these two worlds. We eat fairly healthy for the most part and we do consume the healthier foods that our skin needs occasionally. We also fall to the dark side from time to time indulging the occasional Pizza, chicken wing and fried food marathon that can sometimes happen on Sunday afternoons this time of year. But acknowledging that food is a major contributor to the condition of your skin has an interesting effect on your ability to maintain your diet.
Sometimes when your overall weight is not enough to keep you eating right, sometimes the concern of your skin's condition can help you choose the right foods. There is nothing wrong with enjoying foods from time to time, and by no means is one slice of pizza or three chicken wings going to cause a breakout all by themselves. But the accumulation of these foods certainly can. The key is to only indulge occasionally, and when you do, follow it up with a few days filled with raw fish, cucumbers and egg yolks. This will counter act the negative damage and help your skin maintain its balance, leaving you with acne free skin.
While greasy foods do lead to acne breakouts, it is important to not avoid all grease as it does play a role in your complexion. Sure we do not want oily skin, but we do not want to have skin that is stripped of all its essential oils. While we don't usually refer to corn oil and chicken grease as essential oils, they do contribute to the maintaining of a balanced complexion, just be realistic as to how much grease it takes to accomplish this task.
