Digital Photography Tips For Storing Your Digital Photographs

Many people have will have there own system of digital photograph storage, but here I will share a few digital photography tips that I found handy when labeling and storing my own photographs.

1. Print them.
One very simple way of keeping and storing your pictures is to print them out and keep them in a photograph storage album. This idea sounds easy but this method might be expensive for some as printing out a lot of pictures will quickly add up in price.

But here's a tip, a lot of the pictures you have taken might be double takes, shaken pictures or even family shots where there eyes are closed. A lot of the pictures you wont want printed anyway. So pick out the pictures you want and only print them. You would be surprised how many people walk into a shop, hand over the memory card and ask to get them all printed.

2. Computer.
Another fast and easy way of storage is to download your pictures directly onto your computer. Your digital camera should have come with a wire lead for connecting the camera to your computer. It also should have come with a CD with a downloading program and a small book of instructions.

Once you transfer the photographs onto the computer you can delete them off your camera. This will give you more space on your memory card.

3. Burn them.
If you have a CD burner on your computer then you can always burn your images onto a CD. You can even make multiple copies of the CD and give them to your family.

Just one thing to point out here is that you would be better using a CD that can't be re-written over. This means that once the photographs are on the CD then they are on it for good. Just remember now to label the CD and store it safely with the rest.

4. Online.
You could store your images online on a public website. There is lots of photo hosting sites on line but just be careful to pick one that suits you. Some charge for the service of hosting your pictures but there are others that are free. When you sign up you will have the choice of password protecting your photographs or you can share them with the world.

The great thing about this is if you happen to spill your coffee over your computer or it decides to crash then your photographs are perfectly save.

Well I hope that these few digital photography tips will help you to store your pictures properly so that you can always enjoy them.
