Dieting for Your Health

Dieting for Your health... means that your diet menus must not only restrict the amount of unhealthy foods that you eat, but more importantly your diet menus must be balanced with all the necessary nutrients that your body needs. To often people believe that if I could just learn to eat fewer calories, I'll lose weight. And they lose focus of the fact that our bodies need vitamins and minerals that can only be had through eating... well balanced meals. Dieting for your health means every meal you eat should consist of foods from all three (3) food groups.

1.) Carbohydrates

While it true that we should reduce the amounts of carbohydrate that we eat to lose weight, it must be remembered that carbohydrates are needed by our bodies to produce bile acid, vitamin D and... Hormones that are so important to our bodies functioning properly. Eliminating carbohydrates from your diet can result in poor health mentally and physically. Carbohydrates provide the fuel or energy that our brains and muscles need.

2.) Proteins

Dieting for your health requires eating protein for proper growth and the energy our bodies need. Protein helps our bodies to fight off infections... while it supplies the cells, tissues and organs of our bodies with 20 amino acids that are essential to our bodies ability to build and maintain strong bones and muscles. Trying to diet without eating... proteins usually results in losing more muscle than fat... while starving your body of nutrients needed for a strong health body.

For your diet menus to be healthy, everyday you must eat foods from all three (3) food groups

3.) Fats

While keeping our fat consumption to a minimum is often recommended for losing weight, it's also important to remember that we need to consume fatty foods to aid of bodies in the absorption of vitamins A, D, E and K. Trying to loss weight by totally eliminating fatty foods from your diet can only result in poor health. When dieting for your health, you should always consult a nutritionist to be sure you're eating the proper balance of fats, proteins and carbohydrates that are needed...even more when your goal is to lose weight.
