Do you know the singular most popular wedding decorations currently being sold in stores today? No, it is not the candle or the stunning center piece. Instead, it is the humble mirror! Many a center piece, display and other item is located either on top or in front of a mirror for the sake of the stunning light effect a mirrored surface provides!

Of course, other popular wedding decorations also abound and party stores stock almost every conceivable kind of paper good and also plastic items which will come in handy. Many of these decorations naturally center on the reception and thus the importance of matching table cloths, napkins, plates, and other items is taken into account. Yet a whole subset of such decorations also exists and they are specifically designed and put together for the actually wedding venue, such as a church, hall or other locale.

It is interesting to note that over time the design of decorations has evolved and no longer does one size fit all but instead many retailers and especially online merchants are now seeking for ways to come up with innovate yet affordable options for those who no longer are content to simply buy "off the rack" as it were. Add to this the understanding that decorations for many a bride and groom used to simply refer to the various paper goods but now have transcended into the realm of floral displays which sometimes may be paired with pearls, tulle or even lavish scarves.

The goal of any one singular decoration of course is to either set the mood or carry the color theme the happy couple picked out and even as this should be a simple task, the plethora of color choices makes it important to very carefully mix and match, so as to neither detract from the overall desired effect or in effect create a somewhat odd looking clash. It is not unheard of to see a wedding planner break out the color wheel to double and triple check that the swatches will match perfectly rather than later on oddly appear next to one another.

If you are currently in the market for some decorations, it is time to think outside the box! Pair edible and inedible elements together for a great effect; for example, roses and dark chocolates go together beautifully! In the same vein, why not display your flower in a glass vase filled with water and fresh cranberries? Fondue fountains not only add opulence to your table, but also provide that pairing of inedible and edible your guests will love and instead of the tried and true candle stands in the church, why not go with the stands but add flowers instead? Ice sculptures, champagne fountains, and other decorations for the reception will round out the ambiance you are seeking to create.
