Dealing With Road Construction

There is perhaps nothing more annoying than having to deal with construction on the roadways. We loathe the construction workers in their hard hats as we slowly trudge through traffic on our morning and evening commutes, believing that they have done nothing all day but hang out and chit chat. However, this construction is a necessary evil if we are to remain safe while traveling on the roads, bridges and highways.
There is probably a lot that we are not aware of that goes on when it comes to this type of construction. And while the vast majority of us become annoyed at the fact that construction workers always seem to pick the most inconvenient time to do construction work on the roads, the fact of the matter remains that most road construction crews actually do most of their work at night when there is the least amount of traffic.
Think about where we would be if there was no construction done. Why, we would be left with unpaved roads and probably a huge increase in the number of flat tires and other car troubles. Road construction may be a good thing though, because it forces drivers to slow down and pay more attention to their surroundings as well as to other drivers. If you approach a construction site, and there is a sign to merge, don't ride the lane down until you cannot go any further. Rather, when you see the sign to merge over, try to merge as soon and as safely as you can. People who wait until the last second to merge over often cause other drivers to become upset, which can (and has) led to road rage-related accidents.
