Culinary Herbs From Italy

Italians are always well known for their kind of food and superb cuisines. We are aware of this because we have already tasted some varieties of the Italian recipes. Italian recipes are very popular almost throughout the world. To name a few Italian food or famous Italian recipes, we have the very famous pizza, Italian style spaghetti, Italian style steak, tasty macaroni salads. But what makes their food recipe so tasty and mouth watering? It is because of the famous culinary herbs from Italy - and that is what we are going to talk about - their very popular and most loved herbs used for cooking.

The basil herb is not only a superior flavor enhancer of many Italian dishes; it is also very useful to your other plants in the garden. The basil herb plant if planted, for example, next to a tomato, it can improve the flavor of that tomato. And also, the basil can control some insects from harming itself and other plants in the garden.

Even if the parsley herb plant is difficult to grow and care for, there are others who are patient enough that tend for it because of its usefulness especially in the kitchen. Many years ago, the parsley is also used to stop bad breath. Sometimes it is hard to control the effects of eating very spicy food. So, to help control the strong odor in the mouth for eating flavorful and spicy food, it is advised to eat raw parsley after every meal in order to avoid bad breath.

Another Italian herb that is worth all our efforts for this endeavor is the oregano. Aside from being very flavorful, it can serve as a decorative item in many dish presentation. You have to wait for the oregano herb plant to mature first before harvesting it. It is during its maturity that the oregano herb plant has enhanced its flavor. They have these little pretty looking purple flowers that come in its maturity.

Italian sausage flavor is being enhanced by this very popular fennel seeds. The fennel herb plant is very flavorful when still young. So, don't use fennel when it has matured as it has lost its flavor already. The rosemary Italian herb is also like the basil - other plants in your garden can benefit from your rosemary. The rosemary herb plant can become shrubs which are large enough and they come up with small and beautiful blue flowers. They are such a big help to other plants in your garden as they have that in their nature to drive away insects to protect them and also other plants.

Among the Italian herbs that we have mentioned, it is the garlic that is probably most people know so well and use so often in their everyday cooking. The garlic is so useful in both cooking and medicinal purposes. The garlic is not a fussy herb plant to tend. It can survive in your herb garden with just a very minimal amount of caring.

What we have discussed is just a basic knowledge about culinary herbs from Italy. Italian cuisine and the Italian herb garden - they always have that connection - so, it is a must that we have to study more about it. "Arividerchi"!
