Doing crunches to lose weight does work, but it works especially well when incorporating a few other key factors. Some of these key factors have to do with forms of exercise and some have to do with diet.

1. Make sure to do cardiovascular activity. After your body has worked out at a moderate pace for 30 minutes, your body then goes into fat burning mode. After that you will only need about 15 to 20 minutes more of a bit more intensive exercise. 2. Make sure to eat healthy fats. This is essential in shrinking your belly. Believe it or not, fat is very important ingredient in the fat belly shrinking process. You must eat fat to lose fat. I am talking about healthy fats though, foods like olive oil, avocados, flax seed oil, almond and nut butters and egg yolks as well.

3. Add weight training to your exercise routine. This is very important as without adequate muscle mass, you will not burn fat as efficiently. Just adding a little bit makes a big difference and the nice thing is that you can use your body resistance if you do not happen to have weights around. Here is where adding your crunches to lose weight is a great idea. Do not forget to add other abdominal and body exercises as well for a complete workout.
