Credit Card Charges Can Be Frustrating But There's a Chance You Could Claim the Money Back!
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

A lot of the time, when people are charged for going overdrawn or over their credit limit, there's a large sum to be paid. This sum can sometimes be more than the amount you went over and for this reason they're frustrating and unfair in most people's opinion. However, there's a chance that you can claim back unfair credit card charges and it's actually quite easy to do.

You will need to write a few letters and you will spend most of your time waiting for a response from your credit supplier but it is worth it if you get the money back. A lot of unfair credit charges have been paid back and some people have even claimed back thousands of pounds worth of bank charges. You just have to know how to deal with a situation like this.

Credit companies aren't allowed to charge more than is a reasonable admin fee for writing the letter to tell you that you're overdrawn or have gone over your credit limit. Sometimes, a charge of as much as £35 will be put on your card or taken out of your bank account and this is simply unfair. In terms of the law, we are still waiting for the Financial Ombudsman to make a decision as to whether they are legal or not.

Until then, you can still try to claim back the money you are owed. Credit card charges are simply not justified and this means you can use this to your advantage. There are plenty of websites that will have letter templates that allow you to copy them and add your information. You then send these letters to your bank and wait for a response.

Usually, you'll get a big "no" letter but don't give up. It's possible for the bank to say no at least 4 times before they eventually give in and send you a big check with all the money you're owed. Don't forget to work out the interest on the charges they have made you pay as well.

Overall, finding information about credit card charges on the web is really simple. Just remember to keep your wits about you and ensure that you know your rights. You can usually find a company to help you with all of this so keep an eye out for someone who is able to help you through this stressful situation.
