Creating Newsletters - Be Helpful

Want your customers to read your newsletters? Try creating newsletters that are helpful. People like to read helpful tips and information. Make your newsletter about them first and you second.

Don't know what to write? Ask yourself what information you wish your customers knew. Focus your newsletters on helpful information about your product or service.

  • Tell your readers what to look for when they buy your product. Let them in on the "secrets" of your industry. Customers who understand your product and your service will make your job easier.
  • Help them recognize quality in your product and in your service. What sets your product or business above your competition? What are some warning signs of inferior quality? Why would they want to consider quality first and price second?
  • Show them how to care for your product. Is your product seasonal? Tell them how and where to store it. Will it need to be cleaned or possibly repaired?  How often?
  • Give them helpful tips about pricing. Sticker shock will drive your customers out the door. Let them know your full range of prices and the value they receive at each price level. Explain the different levels of service you offer, and help them select the service level that's right for them.
By providing helpful information you position yourself as the go-to expert.  Now when they want to purchase or simply have questions, you'll be top of mind and you'll have customers for life.

A monthly newsletter is the absolute best way to generate repeat business, and creating newsletters that are helpful is a key ingredient to your newsletter marketing success.
