Container Gardens As Personalized Gifts
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Sure, we have all purchased prepotted plants and maybe added a colorful bow and given it as a gift at some time. But how about a container garden? This is a very inexpensive and personal gift that you can give to just about anyone, and they are guaranteed to appreciate the time and care you took in making it just for them. You are sure to be thanked many times over as they watch their gardens grow into beautiful mature plants that were chosen with them in mind.

Anybody from a family member to a coworker or maybe a significant other would surely enjoy such a unique gift. They can be given for just about any occasion. Give a container garden for a birthday, anniversary, to an ill person or just because. And this is a gift that would appeal to any age group; even small children will look with awe and wonder as they watch their plants grow. Children will especially love caring for a living thing and seeing the constant changes as the plants mature.

Say you are thinking of giving a container garden to a child. You could first choose a fun colorful container. Maybe you could find one with a theme that appeals to that particular child. Maybe they love horses or cars or maybe kittens. Many times if you check with a local florist they carry these types of containers. Or you can call on your inner artist and turn a plain container into a personalized one. Perhaps by finding cutouts or stickers of things they enjoy that you could attach to a plain container that you have painted with bright colors. And all garden centers or florist carry stick-ins, maybe a butterfly or bumblebee that you stick into the dirt once your garden is complete.

This same idea hold true for adult container gardens. Say you decide to do an herbal garden. You could purchase an oblong container and put maybe three or four types of herbs into it. Then you could perhaps find pictures of the mature herbs, such as in a magazine or a seed package. Attach these to the front of the container, you could use a spray adhesive then brush on a waterproof sealer. Type up and decorate a card that gives the care instructions for each plant and tie them with a bow , then attach them to the container. This would be a beautiful way to display your herbal container garden. You could also create your own personalized stick-ins. Craft stores are full of cutouts for scrap booking. All you need to do is purchase the ones you want, glue them to a piece of floral wire and you have created a personal touch for the person you are gifting.

Just use your imagination! Give one as a wedding gift and you could make and attach a beautiful saying such as "may you grow in love each day throughout your new life together". You can be pretty sure that this gift will not be returned! Maybe you know someone who loves golf, you can just add some tees and golf balls.

I could go on and on, the ideas for a container garden as a gift are endless. You will have fun with making them and seeing the reactions of the recipients of these unique gifts. Whether you choose flowers, vegetables, herbs or just beautiful plants, these gifts really will keep giving!
