With the current economic uncertainty, more and more consumers are struggling just to be financially afloat. Debt is taking a huge toll on the personal family finances, and majority of this debt is due to credit cards. That is why consumers are showing more interest in the consumer debt relief programs.
There are many such programs in place to give debt relief to consumers who are in need. The programs are designed to provide not only debt reduction but also debt elimination over a certain period of time; and the consumer does not have to file for bankruptcy to avail these programs.
Some of the popular consumer debt relief programs include debt consolidation and debt consolidation loans. As effective as these two programs are, they are not designed to reduce the total amount of the debt.

This is an educative program that endeavors to make consumers understand the various ways and means of managing and budgeting personal finances. Some credit counseling programs work with lenders on behalf of the consumer to reduce the monthly payments or extend payment terms.
However, the most advantageous debt relief program is one known as debt settlement. Here a debt settlement organization is involved that mediates on behalf of the consumer with various creditors to settle the debt for fraction of the originally owed amount. At times, debt settlement can reduce the debt by up to 50 to 70 percent.
Therefore, if you are struggling with unsecured debts, it is time to available any of the above mentioned programs to help get your personal finances in order and start a new chapter in your life.
