MindMapper 2009 PLUS is a software mindmap tool. You may have heard about it. I do have to warn you because you need to know the whole truth about this tool.
MindMapper 2009 PLUS falls in the same category as MindManager version 9. Both are very good mindmap tools. There are some differences. Since you are interested in MindMapper 2009 I will focus on that tool.
The tool is created with one thing in mind, creating mindmaps the easy way. That is important, because when you create a mindmap, your information needs to flow directly from your mind onto the mindmap on your screen. You don't want to think about the controls and special keys. In MindMapper 2009 you simply start to type.
You may have seen the images, icons and symbols added to other mindmap tools. MindMapper also has them. Personally, I think they are nice, but not really pictures I would use. Fortunately for me and many like me, you can add images to your own MindMapper image library with a few clicks of your mouse button.
Another very important feature of mindmap tools nowadays is the option to share and co-create mindmap with others. This can be done in real-time or via a shared mindmap that all people can work on in their own time.
This is exactly why the PLUS is added. The feature is called MindMapper Collaboration. It enables you to create mindmaps and work together with others on them.
Now I hear you think... all the other attendees to the mindmap collaboration have to buy a MindMapper license as well, right?
Wrong! Only the person who initiates the collaboration needs to own a license. He simply buys a MindMapper collaboration package and starts the meeting. Between 1 and 20 people can now join the mindmap meeting and add their ideas to the map. Of course they have to install MindMapper! Still, they don't have to pay for the software (and they can work on the map as long as it is not closed by the owner or a moderator).
By the way... this collaboration service is extremely fast! We've tested it against Mindmanager and Mindmeister and it blew our minds away. It works like an instant or real-time connection!
There is one final thing you should take notice of. MindMapper can export to many different formats (MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, PDF, etc.). Here's a tip: Don't export to PowerPoint. It works, no doubt about that, but why should you export a perfectly good mindmap to a series of words on slides... This is not just something that MindMapper allows you to do. All other major mindmap tools do this.
To conclude: when you like to create mindmaps in an easy way and you don't fear working together with others on your mindmaps, check out MindMapper 2009 PLUS. I am sure you will love it.
