If your players get really into the game, then this rim isn't going to last very long. As you can imagine, it's mostly on the low-end products.
A better option is a rim that is attached using a dual spring compression mount. Because the spring can absorb some of the force from the dunk during an aggressive game, it is likely to break than the static mount. However, problems are still common with this type of rim mount. You might instead want to look for rims that are mounted using both a static and a flexible component because this combines the stability of the unmoving mount and the absorption of the non-static mount.
Many of the brands of portable basket ball goals on the market do allow you to upgrade your rims. You might purchase a less expensive model then later add a higher quality rim. You should check with the manufacturer first and be prepared to use some tools of your own to make the switch. However, this option does give you more choices when purchasing your portable basketball goals.
