Here are just a few common mistakes that new article writers can get caught up in and which will or could get your articles rejected.
1. Read the article directory's terms and conditions particularly the guidelines. I appreciate that this is something we all skip over as an extremely boring and tedious task; but doing this can save you hours of frustration when your articles are rejected because you have not kept within the directory's guidelines.
2. If your opening statement or title is poorly written this could lead to rejection. Most submissions to article directories are checked by one person and if this person is inundated with articles and they see one with a badly spelt title they will just hit the delete button and your article will never see the light of day.
3. Do not mass submit your articles; these will be viewed as spam. To be honest how many of us are able to write over 200 articles a day. So if you submit a large number of articles over a 24 hour period then don't be surprised to find they have all been deleted. Just use common sense. For those of you that use a submission service make sure you set the option so that your submissions are staggered over a longer period.
4. Please make sure you proof read your articles. If you article is full of spelling mistakes and serious grammatical errors the chances are they won't get published
5. Don't get blasé about your articles, thinking, - oh people will know what I mean, - WRONG. If you really want to make a success of your article writing and have other website owners and bloggers publish your articles, you must demonstrate the ability to write well.
Word of caution to UK article writers, most words that end in ize, e.g. summarize must use the ize not the English ise, or you could get penalized.
6. We come to the Resource Box. When you submit your article to the
Directories at the end of the submission process you will find this Resource Box. It is amazing how many people mess this up!
Use all the promotional tools the Directory gives you. If you put a link to your web site in the Resource Box and why wouldn't you? Then for goodness sake make it a live link otherwise it is a waste of time. Just don't add more links than the directory allows otherwise this will probably result in the deletion of your work.
7. Make sure your article and links are relevant. Don't write an article about Dog Training and then link to a site about Weight Loss - just one more recipe for disaster of deletion.
You can write as many badly written articles as you want just don't expect to have them accepted. The Directories have stringent rules and regulations. Get it right and follow these guidelines and article marketing can reap great benefits for the long term.
