Commit To Your Weight Loss Goals With Confidence - Not Fear

Expert Author Cheryl Hanson

You have a goal: to lose weight. You are sure this time, you will be successful. Why? You have finally decided to task this new lifestyle path with your pledge of commitment. Just like the time you decided to complete that degree at the university, you have now finally, begun a pledge to completing your task.

So how were you successful when you got your degree? Thinking back, there were many obstacles. Maybe you had money hurdles, and you needed to really save and resource your lifestyle in a new way. Moving back home was hard, not buying the greatest new tech toy, hard, but even worse would have been not completing the goal.

You may have decided that college was the answer to a better future. You could see that your opportunities ahead would be better for you and your future. You knew that once you completed your education, you could easily have your own place to live and anything that you desired.

You were ready to manage the challenges, you had a commitment to yourself. This motivates you through the financial aid issues, the class scheduling hurdles, and the day-to-day challenges. You keep up with your course work with this motivation. You find that as you move forward, it becomes easier each day.

So, what is the difference between the analogy above, and weight loss?

Very simply, a commitment needs to occur in order for any effective process is completed. Using our education analogy, it is easy to see excuses could stop progress. If you hate attending class, can't bring yourself to borrowing money, and really don't want to move back home, these excuses would have halted and stopped your college education.

Similarly, if you decide you want to lose some pounds, and you continue with your new lifestyle, but you are not committed, you will not succeed. You will come up with so many excuses, that you will create failure for yourself.

Your excuses could be similar to these statements: I am sure that I am meant to be fat, No one cares if I am fat or thin, I am too old, I really don't like vegetables, I have no time to buy food and deal with that hassle.

Think of the years of your life that are being sacrificed from you thinking these ridiculous statements. They are simply not true! Even if you think you hate vegetables, the fact is, you cannot accurately taste them if you are constantly eating chemicals and preservatives left and right. You are only allowing a wall of what you think is true to bar you from your own progressive future.

Don't do it! You have the power to complete this task. Just don't try it until you have the motivation, persistence, and ability to commit.

It is key for you to remember, just like when you completed college, got that dream job, found your life partner, or created an event that was a true success, you were responsible for it. You decided that you wanted to complete the picture, and you were glad to do it.

Open your mind, find the motivation, and breath in your new future. Only then, do you find success, and the will power to be the thinner you.
