Click Go the Sales! Isn't That What Every Internet Marketer Wants to Hear? Begin With an E-Mail List

Expert Author Elena Rogers

When I was a kid growing up in rural Australia, one of our favourite songs was "Click go the shears." It was an Australian folk song about the hard labour of the shearers in the sweaty wool shearing sheds.

Now, years later,as an affiliate home business marketer and like most honest online marketers instead, I would love to sing "Click go the Sales." But let us begin at the beginning. You are itching to start up an online business and don't really know how.

Do you have a computer, know the very basics of the net, have an e.mail address? O.k. that is enough for starters. But, did I mention an enormous desire or reason why you want to succeed on the internet. I don't just mean the money, although I would not be honest if I thought that was not a legitimate aim too, but you know, you really need to have something deeper to spur you on.

Maybe you are sick to death of commuting and soaking into that couch instead of spending some time with your kids. Maybe you have joined the new ranks of the unemployed, and you are out there searching for valid options. Words like affiliate home business, online business, working from home opportunities are buzzing round in your head but you don't know where to start?

Maybe you are a young dad with an unplanned-for new babe on the way, or a mum with toddlers who wants to help the family income or maybe you just want to bump up your pension and show the kids you don't want to depend on them anymore. I mean, wasn't independence one of the values you taught, or hoped you taught them!

All you really need to do is to make the decision to try internet marketing and to be an affiliate home business marketer. Then, one of the first things you need is an e-mail list. Before you start to build an email list, make sure you have some sort of a product in mind to keep you on focus. Let us say, just for an example, that you have written an informative e-book on How to shoot a croc at a distance of 2 meters and live to tell tell the tale. Sorry about that, but I am Australian.

Why do you need an email list you may ask? You must create an e.mail list because you need to develop a relationship with your clients. That is the real secret and if anyone tells you differently, they are wrong.

Use your mini-course as a lead to your big benefit product.

Offer a free mini-course that leads to the promise of a big benefit product that you will of course, sell, to your readers later. You can give out valuable expertise in a short newsletter type format which promises them something more at the end, in short, you can develop a mini-course. Did I hear you gripe at the word Give? Let me tell you up front that giving comes before receiving. You do that in a grudging way till one day you will really realize they are on the same vibration. I have learnt that giving is just like throwing your net out to the universe and the more you throw out the more you will haul back in the long run.

Before you tell your customers about the mini-course, you must fire them up with a promise. This will be something of super-special value that will benefit them. Now, let's get on to the next point. Once your clients, visitors, virtual readers begin to be tickled with your input, and the chapters ( rather they will be a few paragraphs ) of your mini-course they will trust you. I am letting you in on the secret again. Trust comes right up front as a value that you want to be putting out too.

When the short course you have invented is finished, your virtual readers will feel as though they know you and if you give them valuable information, they will be more than happy to consider the value of the other great-benefit product that you offered. It will be coming in, day to day, constantly reminding your readers of your promise and you! Remember that the product you promised must be good, and you are wise enough to know I am sure that it must come up their expectations.

No need to invent.

I will let you in on another secret here of affiliate home business marketers. For your short course you don't have to be an expert on everything. Mr Google is your answer. There is enough information on the internet for you to write a doctorate on how to stop curling toes from curling if you wanted to.

Break your information into paragraph form and then expand on the paragraphs. You don't have to be Shakespeare either to write these days. People in our fast-paced world are looking for personable communicative information styles even though your fifth grade teacher would not agree with the advice I am giving you. That is the reality today. Probably your fifth grade teacher is writing like this herself now.

Anticipation.

You must remember to keep up interest in every letter and at the end of each email, you must build anticipation for the next lesson e.g. " Now you've learned the basics of crocodile shooting, we are going to get into the more exciting details of how you can do this without your wife ever finding out what you are up to." This anticipation for the next part of your course should be on the end of each message to save it from the delete zone.

Now you have finished your free mini -course. You don't just want thank your mails do you? Remember this was a marketing tactic to help you make a bigger sale. Give your readers a feeling that you have just given them the tip of the ice-berg and if you are honest, you have. The idea is always to give value. Once your clients, readers, oops respected friends, by now, have tasted the pie, they will want to finish it too.

So, when that is done you have teased them into buying your product and you too,as a new home business marketer can sing "Click go the sales."

Just an aside. Remember to put links in your mini-course of useful products related to your subject. Even if people are not interested in your product, they will surely keep your e-mails for further reference.

You may still be a little daunted. Click to my site http://www.yoursuccessmaster.com and you will find a free video about a basic mini-course which will give you a quick start. Also read my article on http://budurl.com/ueg2
