Cleaning Your Child's Bedroom the Fun Way
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Children and clean are not usually used in the same sentence. Most children love to play, love to have fun and hate to clean. So when it comes time to cleaning their bedroom parents are often left holding the bag.

Why not stop the fighting, stop the nagging and make bedroom cleaning time more fun. Try these three simple tricks and you may find that your child's bedroom is clean more often than not.

First Tip/Trick:

Make a photo log of a clean bedroom. Help your child clean the bedroom so that he knows what a clean bedroom looks like. Then take lots of pictures of the room. You can hang the photos around your child's bedroom so that there is always an easy reference as to what clean really means.

Children will both like taking the pictures and trying to keep the bedroom looking as clean as in the photo. This is an easy trick to a clean child's bedroom.

Second Tip/Trick:

Make it a race against time. Take a kitchen timer and set the time for someplace between three and ten minutes. Then turn your child loose cleaning. Your child will race to try and beat the buzzer.

You can add a small incentive of a prize or a special outing if your child beats the timer. Just remember that the goal is a clean bedroom and you do not want to be stuck having to bribe your child with a prize every time you want a clean room.

Third Tip/Trick:

Money, Money, Money. Hide coins around the room in and under items that need to be put away. Then your child has to try and find the coins while the bedroom is getting cleaned.

Be sure to let your child know that the rule is any item they touch while looking for money has to be put away where it belongs.

You may find that if you hide enough money for your child to end up with a dollar at the end of cleaning this is a plus. You can then go to a dollar store and let your child spend the money or make a special savings spot where money can be saved for a big purchase down the road.

Just remember when it comes to cleaning a child's bedroom fun is the name of the game.
