Healing qualities
Citrine is traditionally believed to have a positive effect on the following mental and physical conditions: Trauma, digestive issues, gallbladder function, diabetes, thyroid problems and throat issues.
Citrine crystals occur when amethyst undergoes either natural volcanic or artificially induced heating, through double subnduction. The process of heating changes the internal chemistry of the original amethyst into that which then constitutes Citrine.
Manufactured Citrine is relatively cheap and widely available however, due to the conditions necessary for its formation, natural stones are much rarer. Typically, heat treated Citrine can be distinguished by its much stronger colouration, chemically however, the two types are identical.
