Christmas Gift Ideas for the Family Dog

With the Holidays just around the corner, now is the time to start thinking about fabulous gift ideas for your family, friends and...yes, the family dog!  For many people, pets have become part of the family.  As such, more people are including them in their gift giving agenda; especially at Christmas time.  Our pets give us so much in loyalty, devotion, companionship and never-ending love.  And yet they ask for so little in return.  Why not show them how much they mean to us at this festive time of year by giving them a special gift meant just for them?  Here are some great Christmas gift ideas that are sure to make your pooch feel loved and special.

1.  Gourmet All Natural Dog Treats:  We all give our dogs treats as a reward or praise.  But most of us get the same old dog treats at the local supermarket.  For a great gift, shop at a designer dog boutique for some really special treats!  You'll find all natural dog treats in all shapes and sizes that are not only delicious, but also good for your pooch.  As an extra special treat for the Holiday's, shop for dog treats in the shape of Christmas cookies.  Whatever you pick, make sure it's a unique dog treat that your pooch doesn't get everyday.

2.  Personalized Dog Tee Shirt:  Type these words into Google and you're sure to come across quite a few designer dog boutiques that carry personalized, monogrammed dog tee shirts.  Personalizing the dog shirt with your dog's name or initials makes it extra special.  You can usually choose the color and print that you like the best.  Or, choose a dog tee specific to Christmas.  For example, I found a red and gold dog tee shirt with the quote "Official Gift Opener" written on the top.

3.  Designer Dog Bed:  Give your dog the gift of comfort this Christmas with a designer dog bed that is fashionable as well as durable.  Shop for a unique dog bed that fits your dog's personality as well as your sense of style.  You may spend a bit more, but these kinds of beds are made to last.

4.  Fun Dog Toys:  Around the Holiday's, stores begin to sell dog toys that are specific to Christmas.  For example, you'll be able to find toys in the shape of candy canes, Santa Claus, reindeer, stockings etc.

5.  Christmas Stocking:  If your pooch has been especially good this year, give them their very own dog Christmas stocking filled with all of their favorite things.  You can fill it with dog treats, toys...whatever your pooch loves!

Christmas is a time to give to those we love.  And so it makes sense to give our most loyal companion a gift that makes them feel special.  But unlike with people, there is no pressure when looking for a gift for your pooch.  It doesn't really matter what kind of gift you give them this Christmas.  That's one of the best things about dog's... they will be excited and happy no matter what it is!
