Why? Because cholesterol lowering drugs deplete CoQ10 from your system. A lot of people are confused as to what CoQ10 actually is. CoQ10 is actually made inside our bodies; but as we age, the CoQ10 gets depleted from our system. CoQ10 is needed for the basic functioning of our cells.
Statin drugs just deplete CoQ10 more from our bodies. So, if you are taking a cholesterol lowering drug, a good idea would be to take CoQ10 Supplements as well. Studies have shown that people with heart disease, naturally, have a lower level of CoQ10 in their systems to begin with.
Another scary thing about Statin drugs that most Doctors will never tell you about is that cholesterol lowering drugs have been linked to cancer. An article in Journal of the AMA of 1996 stated that all statin drugs caused cancer in rodents.
Statin drugs... from the research I have done... appear to just make your cholesterol "look" like it is good. They don't fix the problem of heart disease... they just "mask" the problem... to make it look like it is fixed. So in other words, unless you fix the root problem... the heart disease... the cholesterol results (from taking cholesterol lowering drugs) will just appear like you are healthier.
Again, my suggestion... if you have had or continue to have high cholesterol, would be to definitely start taking CoQ10.
But remember, make sure you buy high quality CoQ10... with no fillers and trans fats in them. Do your research and you can find high quality CoQ10 for an affordable price.
