Fire pits can be a great home addition for many reasons. They can cook almost anything, from the perfect hot dog to the perfect hamburger. But, did you know that pits can also be great for melting chocolate? If you love to create delicious concoctions, then a fire pit may be the home addition you have always wanted.
One of my favorite chocolate desserts to cook up on a fire is a s'more. S'mores can make any friend or family gathering instantly more fun. Gathering around a fire pit to make the perfect s'more is always an exciting event. The warmth of clustered flames and being with friends and family also adds to the experience. I have found in my own experience that the flames contained in a small area (such as a fire pit) can create better s'mores than those within a bonfire.
Often, flames in a bonfire can be too out of control for creating s'mores. Marshmallows become burnt, and chocolate can become much too melted. This can all be avoided, however, with a fire that is contained within a small area.
Making the perfect s'more is truly an art. Once perfected, it is an art that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Having a fire pit can help ensure you create the perfect s'more with delicious chocolate.
Other friends of mine use their personal fire appliances to actually create gourmet chocolate. They say that home fire appliances can create gourmet chocolate with a fine roast that can't be created by an oven, stove top, or bonfire.
Hot chocolate is another great recipe that includes chocolate and can be created with the technique of pit cooking. During the cool winter, you can warm up your household with a delicious pot of hot chocolate. Personally, I think the pit cooking aspect gives hot chocolate a fresher taste. There is something simply unique about creating a pot of hot chocolate outdoors while it is snowing with the use of a fire pit. I always find it to be a relaxing endeavor, as well as an enchanting experience with the snow flakes falling around me.
Cooking chocolate does not have to be done within the confines of a kitchen. These days, cooking chocolate can be taken outside and done within an open and fun atmosphere. Next time your guests are around, allow them to gather around and see your newfound skills!
