It started out with DeskTweet, the lightweight application that sits on your desktop for easy tweeting. But the folks over at Market Me Tweet, LTD wanted to find a way to reach out to all of the small businesses out there who are getting involved in the Twittersphere.
The set out on a journey to create a targeted twitter marketing tool, which, according to the latest development update, will be ready in January. But in doing this they inadvertently created TweetBrand.
You may notice underneath every tweet there is a bit of writing that says when the item was tweeted and where it was tweeted from. Now, if it was tweeted directly through twitter it says "from web." However, more and more people are using management systems - Larger applications that manage tweets. Whenever something is tweeted from these applications it says "From 'nameofapplication'" and that name of application is... you guessed it.... a LINK.
So what did the people at Market Me Tweet, LTD do? They put that power in the hands of the smaller guy. You'll see more and more smaller apps are saying from API because the new OAUTH system twitter uses is exceedingly difficult to crack, but Tweetbrand? Well it makes it possible to say "From YOUR WEBSITE" using their wizard to set it up and it takes under 10 minutes to do. Pretty darn cool!
So the next question most people have is whether or not there's a fee for this service. There is, but it's really pretty low considering how long it would take a programmer to do this if they had to set out to do this for a company from scratch. Currently they are charging $99 for a one year license, with a money back guarantee. Seems like a fair deal to me:)
