Changing The Kirby Sentria Vacuum Power Nozzle Belt

After extended use, the Kirby Sentria Power Nozzle Belt may become stretched and worn causing the belt to slip. If this happens you should replace the old belt with a new one. The Kirby Sentria has a Brush Roll Performance Indicator Light built into the system. If your belt is stretched or worn the indicator light will turn green.

To change the belt, simply remover the nozzle from the vacuum. Then release the belt tension by using the handle on the Belt Lifter to turn it clockwise until the green arrows line up. Next, unlock the Rug Plate by un-hooking the two latches on the rear of the nozzle. Once this is done, pull on the rear edge of the rug plate to the nozzle and lift out the belt and brush roller.

Slide off the old belt and replace it with the new one. Place the belt and the brush roller back onto the nozzle and center the belt on the brush. Replace the rug plate by placing it on the front of the bumper first and then pull it over the bumper on the rear of the power nozzle. Use the two latches to secure the rug plate in place. Now, turn the belt lifter handle to the left until the red arrows line up. This will stretch the belt and now you can re-attach the power nozzle to your Kirby Sentria vacuum.

Changing the Kirby Sentria Power Nozzle Belt is simple to do and can help keep your Sentria vacuum running like new. I recommend using on genuine Kirby parts and vacuum bags for your Kirby vacuum. Using generic parts may cause your vacuum not to work properly.
