Here is a big challenge for you. Keep it for a day when you wake up and things do not look so rosy or just do it today. I challenge you to be happy no matter what happens in your life today. Instead of just going through the motions of the day try some of the things below to make it a truly happy and fulfilling day for yourself and the people around you. Make the commitment right now to have a great day - if you do you will be smiling when you go to bed tonight.
- Before you even get out of bed think about the things you are grateful for today. Write them down in your journal or if you don't have a journal either get one or get a pad of paper and write on that. Try to get at least twenty things written on your page.
- Eat a healthy breakfast to start out on the right foot. Your brain and body need the nourishment and energy provided by a good breakfast to get moving at the start of of the morning.
- Greet everyone with a big smile and wish them a great day. Yes, they may look at you funny but you will feel better for it and so will they.
- Start the day by doing something small, easy and quick so you can get some momentum going and be successful right off the bat.
- Do something nice for someone else today. Make it something you don't usually do so they have a nice surprise in their day. It will make you feel great too.
- Take a walk during your lunch hour. Get out and get some fresh air to get the cobwebs out and refresh yourself a bit. Besides, the exercise will make you feel good.
- Laugh - a lot. Play a little and even be silly. Laughter releases endorphins that we need to feel good. Spend some time with friends, coworkers and family enjoying each other's company.
- Work on a fairly big task or a chunk of one. It will feel great to get it done and off your list of things you need to accomplish. Mark it off you list with a flourish!
- Take a few minutes for yourself when you get home to really get present and over the day's activities before you face your family. You will be able to give them your full attention that way.
- Do something good for yourself. Take the time to pamper yourself even if it is just a hot soak in the tub. Get out some candles and essential oils and make it a celebration of a great day.
