Chainsaw Garden Tools

If you have a large garden to take care of or do any significant amount of sawing or woodcutting then a chainsaw is likely to be a useful addition to your collection of garden tools. A chainsaw will cut down substantially on the time it takes to do heavy jobs such as cutting firewood or trimming large branches. With a chainsaw garden tasks can be a good deal easier and less backbreaking. For professional gardeners chainsaws are invaluable.

As is the case with other types of garden equipment such as a hedge trimmer or lawn mower garden chain saws are available as either petrol or electric. The first point to to considered when deciding on the right garden tool for you is whether you will opt for a petrol or electric model. Of course both types have their pros and cons.

A petrol garden chainsaw is completely portable and can be operated anywhere. If you are tackling some of the heavier jobs then they will be more suited to your workload. They can also be used in any conditions.

An electric garden chainsaw has the advantage of being quieter and and less complicated to start. Electric chainsaws can be used indoors as well as out ( which petrol ones cannot). You don't run the risk of running out of fuel half way through a job. Electric models are also more environmentally friendly.

A chainsaw consists of a number of moving parts and an engine and will therefore need to be properly maintained if it is to last and perform well. Proper lubrication of the engine is essential. The chain will also need to be adjusted  as it will become loose over time and with use. The saw teeth will need sharpening on a regular basis.

A very important fact to remember is that a chainsaw is potentially very dangerous. Before starting to us one at all you should have suitable training. You must take the time to  familiarise yourself fully with your chainsaw, all of its parts, and how it operates before starting it up. Protective clothing must be worn at all times along with a hard hat, goggle and gloves.

Electric chainsaws have been put to another use and have inspired a new art form which grows all the time in popularity. Wood carvings done with chainsaws can be remarkably intricate and detailed. There are craftsmen who will produce carvings for you according to your own requirements and designs. May people now incorporate these into their landscape gardening to create a chainsaw garden displays.
