Eczema can develop for numerous reasons, causing varying levels of discomfort for the individual sufferer. To significantly reduce the effects, you will need to realise what may lead to your condition turning into a serious itching attack. Below are my four tips to help you to deal with the effects of eczema.
Moisturizing
Dry skin can cause severe irritation, which increases your itchiness. To prevent dry skin it is advisable to keep the skin moisturised as much as possible. Applying moisturiser to your skin after having a shower or bath will help to lock moisture into the skin and hence reduce the discomfort. It is advisable to try and do this twice a day.
Diet
This is a condition that gets worse if your body is not given the correct nutrients. The worse types of foods are those that are high in acid, as they will increase the severity of the eczema condition.
Perfumes and Scents
The effect of certain chemicals that are used in soaps and detergents can have a terrible effect. This is highlighted by the fact that many people suffer from serious itchiness from their clothing that has been washed using certain detergents. It is advisable to use unscented detergents for washing clothing and the same applies to all soaps, shampoos etc. - Use unscented.
Clothing
As mentioned above the effect of scented clothing for people who suffer from eczema can be fairly unpleasant; so too can certain types of clothing. It has been proved that your condition can become more irritable by wearing the wrong clothing. Woolen clothing should always be avoided. The best type of clothing to wear are those that are made of 100% cotton.
