It seems as if when you get diagnosed with cancer, and you start some form of treatment, you also get a case of constipation. Suddenly the bowels stop working like they are supposed to. So, the doctor starts prescribing some form of medicine that is supposed to get your bowels to move again. Cancer and constipation seem to go hand in hand.
I have known several people who have had cancer and suddenly the topic of the day always seems to revolve around having a bowel movement! Not a great topic, I can assure you. But, it does seem as if, suddenly that person who has cancer, their whole world revolves around going to the bathroom. And I guess, I really can't blame them. After all, when you are constipated, you feel quite miserable. You are weighed down and that is all you can think about, the misery you are feeling.
Constipation inhibits the flow and absorption of vital nutrients in the body, and thereby may affect one's overall health.
My mother had Multiple Myeloma, a rare and incurable cancer. Of course, she was constipated and no matter what kinds of medicine or treatments she took, whether from the doctor or just regular constipation medicine, nothing worked for her.
