Canadian Open Toppers - Dean Wilson and Tim Clark

The grounds of St George were softer after the rain. So the players found it pretty easy to play on it. It was a very important championship and the soft ground was a great advantage to the players. Many players including Tim Clark of South Africa hit the narrow freeways. Tim shot a skillful 64 for a split and lead the second round along with Dean Wilson by the side of 10 under. Dean Wilson hit 65 on the tree-lined and hilly golf course. He closed with a 20 foot par putt after missing his 18th fairway.

Steve Wheatcroft and Brent Delahoussaye were also not far behind. Brent had made a record by hitting 62 the day earlier. He broke his own record this time by scoring a clever 65. Rob Grube and Steve Wheatcroft scored a 66 each while Brock Mackenzie and Hunter Mahan were ahead of them with a score of 68 and 67 respectively. On the other hand, J. J. Henry hit a 65 and Tim Herron scores a 63. Nathan Green won a five-player group by scoring a 65, at 7 under.

Hunter and Brock played at under 8. At under 5, Sutherland tied for the 21st position. This was the lowest round of his PGA Tour profession. He also, like the others took gain from the soft, wet ground after the play put on a setback in account of the rain. Due to this delay, the players were permitted to make use of their own favored lies in the fairways. This condition was again a big benefit, thanks to the rain. Sutherland said that the green soft land was a big advantage and the wind density was also low. This was very advantageous during the game. After a good opening of a score of 73 at under 5, Sutherland made an eagle by getting four holes on the par-5 11th during the game on Friday. He was the winner of Match Play Championship in the year of 2002, where he got eight holes at under 5.

Mike Weir of Canada failed to spot the cut for the 12th time during the 20 Canadian Open. He later scored a 74. He was ahead of 154 players. Adam Hadwin of UK shot 66 at 15 foot par putt at 18. He was ahead of the top 18 players of Canada. The last Canadian winner was Pat Fletcher.
