Baby Boomers begin turning 60--ouch! With this comes a new way of looking at being sixty. Let's face it, sixty today is nothing like it was when our parents turned sixty.

Today, we think of sixty as (almost) middle age. We plan on staying healthy and enjoying our grand kids in ways that our parents would never have thought. To do this we need to follow some rules.

First start drinking eight to ten glasses of water every day. Water keeps our system working and helps to feed our bodies. By making sure we get our water every day, we are also helping to keep our metabolism running efficiently.

Exercise - ah exercise. In past generations we thought that the "golden years" was a time to relax and rest. Not today, today we know that keeping physically active can make us look and feel better and add years to our lives.

Nutrition is another important part of staying fit and healthy. I say we should enjoy life and that food is one of life's greatest pleasures. However, we all know what happens when we eat too much food. So I think that, as with many things, moderation is the key. Eat what you like, just don't overeat.

Sleep is another factor that can be a problem for us as we age. We should all try to get at least eight hours of sleep every night.

Also, a good vitamin and mineral supplement can also help to ensure that you are getting all the nutrients that you need.

One more tip, see you doctor frequently and always consult with him or her before you start any new exercise regimen.
